There are several new planner pages as well as some updated ones (thanks for the feedback!). I am editing the “How-To” files (most are hidden from your view right now), putting together some photos of my journals as well as some slideshows. Watch for those in the coming month!

SMALLER SIZED JOURNAL
I am asked several times a week about providing smaller sized pages. This is just not something I can offer at this time. The best advice I can give for those wanting a smaller size is to adjust your print settings with the PDF files. I have been meaning to do a video to show how this can be done, but haven’t had the time. Here’s a real quick rundown of how to adjust the settings (this won’t be perfect, but may work for some of your needs).

Using the PDF version of a file,
1) Click File / Print
2) Page Scaling / Multiple Pages per Sheet
3) Pages per Sheet / “1″ by “2″
4) Auto-Rotate Pages (check this box)
(I would turn off the “Print page border” option.)

This will give you two pages of our journal for every one sheet of paper. Page size will be reduced to fit on a 5.5" x 8" area. The scaling of the page is consistent but it’s not going to be a perfect proportion for those using the 5.5" x 8" journals.

SETTING UP YOUR JOURNAL

NEW THEME
I have received MANY requests for a swirly-deco-modern-funky design for our Mom’s Home Journal. I’m not sure if I have hit the nail on the head, but I do have a new theme in the works. In the coming months, I will be adding this theme to all of our currently available seasonal pages and will also include it in any of our new updates. Just an FYI . . . I do not plan on adding any other themes in the near future. It is a tremendous amount of work to add a new theme, but I had SO many requests that I felt this one was needed. This theme will be all-inclusive, meaning that there will not be seasonal swaps for dividers, calendars, etc. I might make a variety of different covers and spines, but everything else will be color-coordinated throughout. :)

Household Planner Update – 04/2011

I want to thank all of our members for your patience these past few months. Baby Jordan was born February 15th (11 lb 1 oz) and we’ve been enjoying our time together these past couple of months. It’s been quite a challenge to adjust to a new baby, but SO much fun! He’s an absolute angel. :) It’s been almost 10 years since I’ve had a baby in the house. Many things have changed in my life since then . . . many things that influenced the creation of this website LOL! In the coming months you’ll (hopefully) get a peak at my organization strategies for home & school and also get to see some actual photos of my various journals. Time will tell! That is my plan though.

I’m very excited to see what you think of our newest updates. I’ve been working very hard on a new format for our editable files using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. I know I’ve been quiet, but it’s been quite a challenge learning this new format. I have to be careful not to break our copyright agreements with the artist, so I’ve been carefully testing this new format to make sure it complies. If you do not have the Microsoft Excel program, you can download a free open source version to use with our files. The link can be found on the pages with the new files. Most of the editable features should work even with the open source version (I’ve been trying to test them). What’s SO awesome about using the spreadsheet format is that you can do all sorts of editing with the fonts PLUS you can SAVE your work!

My time is limited, but I hope to develop a helps section for you to show you the various things you can do within the spreadsheet programs to really make these forms fit your needs. Until then, please drop me a comment/feedback so I know what you think. I have new pages on hold until I see how this new format works for everyone. I’m loving it because it’s SO much easier for ME to create an editable file this way PLUS it gives YOU lots more flexibility and adaptability with your journals. It’s a great win-win situation. I hope you LOVE it!

Household Planner Update – 02/2011

Baby is on the way this month! Our due date is 02-18-2011, so we are now “officially” in the 2-week delivery window. It’s been an exciting month with two false alarms, some partial bedrest, and continual snowy, icy weather conditions making our 30 minute trip to the hospital an adventure of its own — just found out more is on the way!

This month, I’ll be adding our updates to this page as I finish them since I’m unsure about baby’s arrival. So check back when you can! I do plan to take two-three weeks off once he gets here and will try to send out an email to let you know. :)

Please send in any ideas for new pages via our Comment Form located at the bottom of each category page. Specifically this month, I’m working on new Menu Planning / Recipe Notebook Pages and some other Homeschooling Pages. Any other ideas and new pages may be put off until the March update, but please send them in anyway!

This update is all about personalizing your journal(s)!  You can now add your own title(s) to the cover pages and spines.  Create as many different types of  journals/notebooks as you like.  There are two pages included for each type of cover page.  The first is for a one-line title and the second for a two-line title. 

To-Do Pages
We missed a title on one of the summer-themed pages.  This has been corrected.
